About Lisa Eichler

Lisa has focused her studies and 18+ years career on facilitating the interactions between environmental science, policy-making and finance - providing analysis and advice on topics relevant for the transition towards a low-carbon, climate-resilient future. Lisa has in-depth expertise on the topics of climate change (adaptation and mitigation), biodiversity/natural capital/, and disaster risk/resilience. Lisa joined MSCI in 2023 as Head of Physical Risk and Nature Solutions. In her role she is responsible for the product strategy and roadmap across physical risk, nature and biodiversity, as well as the underpinning GeoSpatial Asset Intelligence developed to enable location-based, bottom-up assessment of physical risk and nature exposure and impact.Lisa enjoys joint thought leadership and active engagement with networks and alliances, including GFANZ, IFOA, IIGCC, ILN, UNEP FI, NGFS, etc.Prior to joining MSCI, Lisa was Managing Director and co-founder of Climate & ESG Solutions at Ortec Finance. Lisa built and lead a team of 20+ professionals and was responsible for driving the holistic integration of climate risk and opportunities into investment decision-making models. Prior to Ortec Finance, Lisa has worked for 10+ years as a consultant implementing projects for European institutions, national governments and international organizations, on climate adaptation and biodiversity policy questions. In this role, Lisa was, for example, contributing to the EU’s Biodiversity Strategy, Green Infrastructure Strategy.Lisa earned her Master of Science in Environmental Management and Masters of Arts in Global Public Policy at Duke University, USA.
