Lisa Elaine Shaw is an accomplished Special Projects Manager for SchoolTalk and Restorative DC, recognized for her success as a senior organizational manager with twenty-seven years of experience responding to diverse challenges in education and community-based organizations. With a background centered on training and development of conflict resolution skills in post-conflict and community-based settings, curriculum development and facilitation of experiential education programs, and environmental stewardship, she has made a significant impact at the international, national, and local levels.Lisa began her career as an inaugural member of Americorps-NCCC, working in wild land firefighting and creating curriculums and traveling nature trunks for the Chattahoochee Nature Center. She also taught for High Touch-High Tech, a hands-on learning program focused on strengthening national science standards, and directed primary and secondary after-school and summer programs for the City of Decatur Recreation Department.As an administrative faculty member with George Mason University’s School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, Lisa co-developed and co-facilitated field courses that included post-conflict peace building in Liberia, transitional justice in Colombia, and integration of migrant populations in Malta. She received a Master of Science degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from the Institute of Conflict Analysis and Resolution in 2011, and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Philosophy, and Environmental Science at Regis University in 1994.In addition to her professional achievements, Lisa volunteers as a keeper-aide with the Smithsonian National Zoo and an Election Officer with the Fairfax Office of Elections in Virginia. Her diverse experiences and passion for education, environmental stewardship, and conflict resolution have made her a respected leader and innovator in her field.
