I am a huge Zoo advocate and am thrilled I get to put my expertise in Non-profit management to use at the Kansas City Zoo. Here I am responsible for providing the planning, organization, and implementation of the overall corporate fundraising program within the development department, including fundraising for the Zoo's annual gala, Jazzoo. Additionally, I research, write and manage the submission of grants and grant reports on behalf of the Zoo.

I am the owner and primary consultant for Project Work Unlimited. For the past 12 years I have been working with non-profit organizations in Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska. My goal is to offer affordable project management solutions to non-profit organizations and small business owners.

Although this was technically a consulting position, because of it's length and involvment I have included it. - Assisted with the merger process of the two museums.- Organized grants and created grant tracking system.- Organized human resource files, interviewed and hired employees.- Conducted analysis on Visitor Services Department and implemented systems for improvement.- Analyzed costs and expenses to balance budget. - Mapped processes to gain the most efficient and effective experience for museum visitors.- Conducted ongoing organizational and program analysis.- Worked closely with board members on sustainability issues.- Developed marketing and outreach tools.- Developed and managed annual organizational budget.- Presented financial statements to CMKC board members during monthly meetings.- Hired, trained and supervised employee’s and volunteers.- Prepared grant reports and compliance reporting documentation.

- Developed and administered survey to all six school districts throughout Johnson County. The survey examined the demographic and classification changes in enrollment. Presented results to the Children’s Coordinating Council of Johnson County.- Convened and Facilitated meetings around youth related issues, provided expertise to area non-profit agencies dealing with child related issues.- Project Manager for the Family Centered System of Care Grant through the Johnson County Mental Health Center and for the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant for the 10th Judicial District.- Conducted local research as well as secondary research on best practices for child related issues.
