As Exec. Director, Regulatory Implementation, I lead the implementation of the federal Consolidated Appropriations Act/No Surprises Act regulations across the enterprise. As part of the Interoperability and Transparency PMO leadership team, I lead the development and implementation of solutions to comply with federal regulations. I am responsible for collaborating with Technology, IT, Architecture, Legal, PMO, business partners, and compliance in the development, implementation and evaluation of tactical and strategic solutions to achieve successful and compliant implementation of all requirements.

As a Sr. Compliance Director, I lead a team of 6 individuals who provide compliance support for health insurance markets operating in 26 states. We are responsible for coordinating all interactions with regulators (i.e. market conduct exams and inquiries) as well as collaborating with the business areas we support to identify and address any compliance gaps and potential areas of compliance risk.

As a Compliance Director, I am the Business Compliance Officer (BCO) who works with business area management to implement and maintain effective compliance and ethics program components to ensure that all functions, operations and activities of the business unit are conducted in accordance with the Code of Conduct, and applicable laws and regulations.

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the organization’s corporate compliance plan- Interact with all personnel and affiliates to insure the corporation and its subsidiaries comply with all state and federal laws and regulations:-- Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-- Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA)-- Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA)-- Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) -- Section 125 Cafeteria Plans-- Coordination of Benefits / Medicare Secondary Payer- Supervise staff responsible for drafting and maintaining all individual and group contracts, policy forms, certificates of coverage, applications, enrollment forms, and endorsements- Act as a liaison with the Kansas Insurance Department to obtain regulatory approval of all policy documents and to handle any issues as they arise- Chair the Corporate Compliance, Privacy, and Ethics Committee- Facilitate multiple state licensing/registrations for affiliated companies
