Leading our HR, recruitment and talent development teams to ensure that Democracy Prep consistently attracts, supports and retains a talented and diverse staff, so that our kids receive the education they deserve. Alongside a great team of talent professionals, I work to ensure that our talent practices reflect and support our commitment to antiracism and transparency. This includes: leading an audit of job descriptions to eliminate unnecessary barriers; developing systems to ensure strong, inclusive interview processes for all roles; revising and/or building out performance management for teachers and back office staff; leading teams through succession planning in a way that mitigates bias. I've spearheaded our digital marketing strategy to ensure we consistently attract a diverse talent workforce. I also provide strategic support to the superintendent and executive staff in all talent-related matters to support the mission of preparing every scholar for success in the college of their choice and a life of active citizenship. Led and managed our people strategy during COVID including: revision of our evaluation policies for school-based staff; supporting managers in people management as we transitioned to the virtual space; managing our vaccine mandate roll out in NYC; developing our remote work policy; managed our return to work in the back office. Special passions include: Talent strategy, talent management, Inclusive talent acquisition; leadership coaching; succession planning and creating people-centered and outcomes-driven policies.

• Define DPPS best practices in talent development, and mentored and coached school leaders in providing high quality coaching and professional development to all DPPS staff. • Lead the recruiting, hiring and coaching of leaders-in-residence in Democracy Prep's internal leadership program. Developed marketing and outreach strategy, designed interview day structure, and mentor and coach leaders-in-residence. Developed program design and curriculum for our one and two-year leadership programs • Responsible for design and sustainability of DPPS’s new Teacher Residency program, a teacher apprentice program designed to both attract DPPS alumni to the teaching profession and increase diversity among teaching staff• Spearheaded DP YOU, DPPS’s internal learning conference for all 22 schools. Responsible for improved satisfaction rates by all staff • Manage the development of pathways for teacher leadership, including the Teacher Leader Institute and the Master teacher program. • Initiated and developed systems for school leaders to differentiate development opportunities to high-performing staff to improve performance and retention

Created our internal leadership development program, which has now evolved to a series of programming designed to equip and support leaders and ensure DPPS has a strong, inclusive bench. Accomplishments include: managed recruited, hired and coached leaders-in-residence in Democracy Prep's internal leadership program; responsible for increasing applications by over 50%; designed scope and sequence of professional development for one and two-year training program, and deliver regular professional development for all leaders-in-training; created, designed and led the DPPS Teacher-Leader Institutes, a series of workshops for teacher-leaders aimed at developing leadership skills, in order to build leader capacity and stronger succession planning.; developed systems for school leaders to differentiate development opportunities to high-performing staff to improve performance and retention; partnered with multiple external organizations to build aligned opportunities for leadership development ; spearheaded the development of an online library of teaching videos and professional development resources for leaders

Oversaw NY high schools and ensured that scholars received an outstanding education. Led the founding of ur second high school and first high school replication. I coached and supported high school principals in creating and sustaining strong academics and strong culture, leading to over 90% of scholars passing New York State Regents exams. I also oversaw the transition to common core algebra, leading to both high schools having over 90% pass rate. Additionally, I developed organizational systems to ensure training and supports to school’s operational teams

Founded our first high school. Led a team of exceptional professional in setting data-driven academic and cultural goals, to increase student achievement. Accomplishments included: 100% of our graduates accepted and enrolled in 4-year higher ed institutions, over 90% of our scholars have passed NY State Regents, and earned an “A” on the school’s first progress report

Taught 7th Grade US History, with 85% of scholars either achieved 40% growth or 80% mastery; Taught 8th Grade US History; 100% of Regent Prep Group passed 11th Grade US History Regents. Also served as 7th grade level chair, and History Department Chair.
