About Lisa Gibson
Lisa Gibson is a Commercial Manager at Associated British Ports. She possess expertise in training, policy, coaching, change management, management and 41 more skills. Colleagues describe her as "I first came across Lisa as part of my work with the Spark Fund. I was impressed by her passion for the business, its product and its continuous improvement but also the opportunity it created for a more sustainable future. We later explored the opportunity for a KTP with the business but also with other businesses and organisations within her sphere of influence. She did not need to do this but expended her time and energy because she could see the potential business benefits that these other business owners could generate by working with the University. I would happily recommend her for her positivity, drive, knowledge and networking skills." and "I first met Lisa at a Housing Seminar in Manchester back in 2022, whereby her presentation really captured the audience, by outlining a different vision. Bringing affordable home heating and at the same time completely cutting a householders carbon footprint to minimal levels with a brilliant IR heating product. Now many of my LinkedIn contacts know, that I strive to look for new technologies that bring together both innovations, affordable and more important the sustainability aspect. As always, at these events, you network and Lisa has fantastic networking skills and experience. Her personality is awesome with focus and sheer determination to deliver a difference to our society. Her product was Eco Heatwave and it was her baby, she'd recognised the potential for a product and solution and literally made it a whole lot better by understanding the associated challenges faced by householders and other groups in the social housing, local authority and private landlords. Over the coming month we remained in contact as her ideas grew and the challenges got slowly ticked off. I can honestly say her dedication to launch this product was off the scale. At every hurdle faced Lisa found a solution to continue that journey. Unfortunately her product and work ended abruptly and before its time for mass product launch which really is a shame because I truly believe that Lisa had developed a fantastic product and solution in technology, simplicity and an affordable pricing structure. This product really would have made a huge difference to our society. I am continually amazed by her drive and determination I can't recommend Lisa high enough. Any organisation that Lisa either moves on to with get a truly dedicated and professional person. I wish her well in any future venture that capturers her attention with the dedication and capabilities to deliver what's really good."

Founder, Product Developer & Md Of Eco Heatwave Limited
Eco Heatwave provides an innovative hidden heating solution suitable for installation in homes and businesses in the UK. This revolutionary infrared heating system is suitable for most new build and retrofit applications. I have designed this specifically to help the UK to reach its net zero goals. It has been priced to be affordable too, as we aim to help reduce fuel poverty in the UK. It can be installed in new build properties, modular buildings and caravans. It can also be retrofit into homes, business and commercial premises. It is completely hidden from view to enable your inner interior designer to make the most of your chosen space. It provides maintenance free, super efficient, low cost heat that you can control from your smart phone. Using the app is a great way in which you can make additional savings. The heating system is decentralised, responsive and may only require 2-4hrs of energy consumption per 24hr period to maintain comfort levels. You have to experience it to believe it.

Area Development Team Officer
Working to a 1 year fixed term contract. I was responsible for the development of community projects. From inception to completion. I carried out a stakeholder analysis, researched, planned, consulted, obtained quotations as per company standing orders, instructed the works and fulfilledl all of the necessary Health & Safety requirements for each project. I then evaluated the effectiveness of the projects and shared best practice. I have completed several projects, including the installation of cycle racks at our sheltered schemes. This was done in partnership with NELC who provided the racks as part of their Sustainable Travel Grant Scheme. I have also completed a Gardening Project that was carried out in partnership with an Operation Lifestyle team of young volunteers. I have introduced new ways of working that seek to maximise our limited budget. In doing so we are now delivering projects with the assistance of the Youth Offending Service, Grimsby College students and MHI Vestas and have managed to lever in materials from numerous local companies under their corporate social responsibility. In order to meet the growing demands of an aging population, I am currently working on solutions to provide safe storage and charging facilities for Mobility Scooters. I have already implemented a registration system, devised new policy and carried out individual risk assessments. I also researched Eco alternatives to traditional tarmac car parks. In addition to project work, I was also jointly responsible for the delivery of the sheltered scheme refurbishments including decorating, carpets and soft furnishings. I also managed the laundry provision and organised a celebratory event upon completion of the works.
Business Development Manager
I was responsible for all office and accounting tasks, as well as HR duties. I implemented new ways of working, introduced the team to social media and made improvements to the website.
Parish Councillor
When my role as Area coordinator ceased in 2011 I realised that community development work had become a way in which I could really make a difference. I had developed a passion for it. I decided that I would put my self forward as a Parish Councillor as I was aware that there would be a lot I could offer to the community in which I lived after having been trained in Community & Neighbourhood Planning . The Council had been stagnating for some time and I sought to make improvements.I made several observations early on that highlighted a lack of financial risk management. I highlighted these to the then Chairman and sought action to rectify the situation. Unfortunately however I was not met with action nor any willingness to change. I also identified the need to overhaul the Community Newsletter which at the time was costing the community between £3 & 4k per annum to produce and distribute. Despite paying for printing I identified that the newsletter was being photocopied and was often so poor quality that parts of it were illegible. I set up a communication working party and redesigned the newsletter on three occasions, each time meeting criticism from my colleagues. I persisted for some time and eventually decided to set up a Community Facebook page. I still run the page to this day along with several activists from the village. I was also keen to create a community led plan in response to the localism agenda and the increase in proposed development in the village. Again this did not come to fruition as there was a lack of interested parties to take it forward. My role came to an end in October 2014 when I made a final attempt to share my concerns about the councils financial affairs. I volunteered a great deal of time to this cause, over and above the time expected as I was confident I could make a difference and right some of the wrongs that I had identified. Only time will tell...
Recycling Champion Manager & Project Co-Ordinator
I was responsible for devising work plans and mentoring two apprentices. I was also responsible for recruiting, training, & coordinating volunteers who would ultimately identify new ways to sell the message ‘reduce reuse and recycle’ throughout the Borough of North East Lincolnshire and increase the number of residents participating in the kerb side collection of recyclable materials. I identified several opportunities to establish local enterprise in order that the project would become sustainable beyond the term of the project. I worked closely with the newly appointed Waste Advisors at North East Lincolnshire Council and facilitated an action planning session using Planning For Real methodology which resulted in a comprehensive plan of action. This post ended due to budgetary cuts made by NELC.
Rural Advisor
Working to the targets set out in the Transforming Local Infrastructure programme I was responsible for providing development support to rural community forums, town & parish councils and voluntary sector organisations enabling them to plan for future sustainability. I was an integral member of a multi agency development workers network and also played an active role in multi agency community development meetings in order to influence the strategic direction of community development within the borough.I identified a need for community led planning in the borough. Funding was identified and I set out to recruit a team of co workers from across the safer and stronger community sectors. I arranged training for a group of 16 candidates to be trained in Planning For Real techniques. I facilitated regular practitioners meetings and kept the momentum going. I took the lead on the Lottery's BIG Local North Cleethrpes community consultation pulling together practitioners and volunteers to make and man the BIG Map at several local events. This resulted in over 3000 comments being gathered for the group to use when forming a vision for the BIG Local action plan.

I established successful resident led community groups and equipped them with the resources and skills required to make a difference in their communities. I achieved particular success with Immingham group ‘One Voice’, a constituted community led group that works closely with support agencies to deliver improvements in the ward area. I demonstrated my communication skills in many ways, adapting to the audience when presenting to board members, partner agencies and residents. I formed strong relationships at all levels and was able to negotiate support from business and agencies at no cost to the community. I demonstrated an ability to sell innovative concepts in to order to drive through organisational change.I established and maintained social media networks and empowered community members to take ownership of these. This enabled wider consultation opportunities for partners and was also used to share information.I was responsible for the management of a comprehensive action plan, coordinating activity between community representatives, Ward Councillors & local businesses to resolve community priorities in an effective, innovative, and timely manner.I also provided development support to individual community members, equipping them with skills to assist in communication, presentation and negotiation.
Temporary Crew Manager (Control)
I was in a position of overall accountability for mobilising and managing resource in a timely and effective manner to meet the needs of the Emergency situation, in order to reduce the risk to life and property.I was responsible for making key decisions under pressure whilst maintaining operational resilience; working within a fast paced, changeable environment.I deputised for the Watch Manager and complimented their role by providing training and support to watch members and addressing line management issues as they arose. I provided training to the watch and coached new recruits during their 2 year probationary period and managed watch competency via PDR Pro and E learning. Sales Manager - Various
I started as a part time cashier and after exceeding my full time counterpart’s targets, I quickly progressed through a variety of roles from Receptionist to Banking Advisor, complaints to Business Banking and eventually took on a full time role. Due to my continued success I was identified for the fast track management scheme. I was placed in a failing branch and transformed it into one of the top performing branches in the region. I introduced new ways to generate business banking leads that was adopted regionally due to it’s effectiveness, and coached my colleagues to achieve their personal targets, by looking at what motivated them as individuals. I then used this to harness their attention and lead them to succeed as a branch.
