With over 30 years’ experience in the health care sector, I have made it my career to stay close to the issues impacting health care delivery. As former owner and CEO of UniMed Direct, I led the company to revolutionize the utilization review process with expert services, intuitive software technologies, and a strategic focus on the future of health care. UniMed Direct is now a Mitchell company.I have been engaged in almost every facet of the health care industry including management positions within medical, regulatory, insurance and technology companies. I spent my early career as an EMT with Austin EMS followed by working in a state public health program before I became one of the early reformers in Texas workers’ comp, developing many of the first rules and guidelines under the ‘New Law’.
