Dr. Lisa Hinkelman is an educator, researcher, and author who has spent 15+ years in education, first as a professor at The Ohio State University and now as the Founder/CEO of Ruling Our eXperiences (ROX). ROX is a national nonprofit focused on the health, safety, education and empowerment of girls. ROX programs operate in 500+ schools across 26 states.Hinkelman’s most recent book, ‘Girls Without Limits: Helping Girls Succeed in Relationships, Academics, Careers and Life’, is a Corwin Press best-seller and her research from The Girls’ Index, the country’s largest survey of girls, has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Education Week, USA Today, Newsweek and Parents Magazine.Lisa earned her bachelor’s degree in Education and Psychology from Chatham College in Pittsburgh, PA, her master’s and doctorate degrees in Counselor Education from The Ohio State University and completed the Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management program at Harvard Business School. She is a former collegiate ice hockey player, a rescue dog lover and mom to young, wild and three-year old daughter, Irene.
