I am a facilitator for LEAD Parkway, which is a program under LEAD STL. We have partnered with the District's director of Diversity and Equity to create a specific program through the Parkway district. We provide community resources to a group of high school students who applied, interviewed, and were handpicked to participate. We encourage our students to find areas where they want to advocate, and they take what we teach them, go into the community, and put the tools to work.We meet monthly with the group of students to work through activities of advocacy, intersectionality, and other resources and tools that help elevate communities. We have hosted two- retreats that walk through the history of the organization and the history of St. Louis. This plays a vital role because it helps the students see where they can connect and partner in advocacy.
