With an impressive tenure exceeding two decades in post-secondary education, Dr. Carbone stands as a trusted and respected figure in academia. Currently serving as the Director of Licensure and Compliance at Nova Southeastern University (NSU), she collaborates closely with senior administration, faculty, and state regulatory agencies to ensure state authorizations, professional licensure, and compliance with state and federal regulations.In her role, Dr. Carbone oversees the verification of teacher candidates from undergraduate and graduate programs, managing educator licensure and certification processes. She communicates changes to certification requirements and associated assessments to all stakeholders, offering consultation to university departments and committees on certification matters.Beyond her administrative roles, Dr. Carbone engages in interdisciplinary scholarship activities, exploring interests in complementary health therapies, women's leadership, and trends in higher education. Actively participating in grant activities/projects and other creative scholarly work, she also contributes to academia by teaching in the Master of Science in Leadership program and serving as a dissertation research advisor for NSU's Doctor of Education program. Her prior teaching experiences include roles with Broward County Schools, Miami Dade College, and South University.In 2018, Dr. Carbone played a vital role in the Standards Review Project (SRP), contributing to the development of new teaching standards through a comprehensive, inclusive process involving yoga teachers, practitioners, and leaders worldwide.
