In my most recent role as a Curriculum Writer for Christian Covenant Academy, I was responsible for organizing, sourcing resources and writing engaging, hands-on, problem-based, inquiry based 3rd, 4th and 7th grade Social Studies curriculum. Tasked with the challenge of no printers and no textbooks, I created a scope and sequence, and 8 units of curriculum, for each grade, that focused on collaboration and student created material. I developed three curriculums that teach lap book construction, visual notebook learning and notetaking strategies along with social studies content. Authentic real-word assessments and creative learning activities round out every lesson. This was an agressive timeline of 3 month to complete three grades levels for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Challenge accepted. GOAL ACHIEVED. As a Curriculum Designer at Cypress Homeschool Council since January 2023, I have been responsible for creating and designing academic enrichment programs in Texas History and Human Biology for 4th and 5th graders, which will run from September 2023 to May 2024. Prior to this, I have had a diverse background, including being a homeschool teacher for Leese Academy since August 2018., teaching and graduating a high school student and currently teaching elementary and middle school. Additionally, I have been a self-employed business owner at Lolly And Papi LLC since March 2020, where I have presumably offered various educational services. My teaching journey began as a Special Education Teacher and then a 7th and 2nd grade teacher in the public school system and a pre-school teacher at a private day school. Later, I taught as an English Second Language Teacher at VIPKid from September 2017 to September 2021, gaining four years of remote teaching experience. Furthermore, I have a history of event planning and coordination as a Party Designer and Coordinator for Divas & Dragons from January 2005 to September 2006. These experiences have provided me with a well-rounded skill set in education and curriculum development, both in traditional and homeschool settings, as well as event planning expertise.
