The Women’s Birth & Wellness Center provides comprehensive primary, maternity and lactation healthcare throughout the life cycle. Reporting to the board of directors, the chief executive develops and implements strategy and has responsibility for the leadership and oversight of the organization to include: operational management , new business development, resource development and advocacy; and board relations. Works closely with the board and in partnership with key leaders to ensure that the goals and mission of the organization are achieved. In collaboration with the board, defines the growth and vision for the organization and participates in local, state and national efforts to improve access to services.

Responsibility for the oversight and management of the organization’s 14 health centers and administrative operations team to ensure: strategic planning and forecasting, departmental development and new service implementation in alignment with market share data, service line expansion and ongoing monitoring and evaluation. Ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of safe, high quality health care while maintaining a positive patient experience, fiscal responsibility that ensures sustainability and a positive work culture.

Led and directed all aspects of business operations, human resources, strategicforecasting and physician relations for Duke University ambulatory care family medicine service lineto include: Family Medicine Pickens, Outpatient Clinic, Eye Center Labs, Hyperbaric andDuke Clinical Research Unit.Key Achievements:• Successfully managed department finances and operational processes • Led ambulatory departmental policy management committee to ensure consistency throughout department• Met regularly with direct reports to discuss strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of department• Right-size, right-fit staffing compliment• Successful implementation of effective processes resulting in overall positive impact and significantly improved dashboard metrics: access to care, finances and patient satisfaction scores

Effective in directing all aspects of practice operations, financial management and human resources necessary to maintain successful and fiscally responsible day-to-day business operations. Ensured the consistent review of financial statements to complete end of month closing process.Key Achievements:• Prepared and presented the departmental financial report to the Executive Leadership Team, which aided in decision making• Worked in collaboration with Practice Medical Director to oversee clinical operations• Aligned vision and goals to set realistic expectations for staff • Strengthened and fostered staff leadership by working closely with staff led committees• Managed practice financials to include: invoice management and budget preparation• Evaluated, monitored and adjusted business operations as necessary in keeping with budget• Collaborative approach to develop and implement practice mission statement and goals

Served as the leader for all Pediatrics services and provided leadership and direction for all aspects of business operations, human resources, strategic forecasting and physician relations to include: Primary Care, Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes, Special Infant Care Clinic, Concussion Clinic, Neonatology, Pediatric Hospitalist and Intensivists and Pediatric Surgery. Proven ability to successfully implement data driven, measurable process improvements to include: decrease in no show rates, increase in patient encounters and increase in revenue above budgetKey Achievements:• Managed and directed a staff complement of 114 employees to include 58 providers• Prepared for presentation quarterly financial reports for the Wake Med Executive Team• Proficiency in financial planning: to include development and management of departmental budget for six business units within the Pediatrics Department• Monitor activities and operations of all business units to ensure they are meeting and exceeding budgeted goals/objectives• Spearheaded the development and implementation of policy and procedures to ensure consistency • Strategic implementation of and overseer of new pediatric service lines• Played a key role and successfully led the Duke and WakeMed Pediatric Specialty collaboration

Served as the leader to staff and partnered with physicians to significantly improve the overall practice operations and positively impacted the finances in transforming a historically revenue losing practice into revenue producing in 6 month time frame by performing audits and implementing processes that identified and recovered financial loss.Key Achievements• Managed the daily operations and practice finances to include all practice staff , charges and A/R • Effectively manage Medicaid and private payor claims and receipts for 70% Medicaid patient population
