Joint Head of the Planning Team and Living Sector Lead at ShoosmithsI head up the Shoosmiths award winning Planning Team alongside my job share partner Kathryn Jump. We also lead the firm's Living Sector together with Judy Fawcett, a market leading real estate lawyer. Shoosmiths has invested heavily in this sector over recent years and we now have one of the largest national teams working for housebuilders, developers, land promoters as well as investors and those delivering in specialist areas such as later living, student, BTR and affordable housing. Working on a job share basis with Kathryn since 2008 we have proved that it is possible to balance a family life and progression in our careers while keeping it super real. Experience: I started out in the public sector at Birmingham City Council and my time has spanned both the public and private sectors. I therefore have a good awareness of what it takes to get things through from both sides of the fence. Working on a number of high profile projects over the years I have gained a wealth of experience dealing with large-scale development and regeneration projects. I’m identified as a leading individual for planning legal work in Legal 500 and Chambers with clients describing me as “a really hard-working and clever lawyer who finds her way around complex problems".
