At BMC earlier 1993-2001 (8 years), where I was a Product Author, my focus was on replicating changed data from non-relational systems to relational systems. My piece was the "Transformer", which "flattened" the non-relational hierarchical or network data and COBOL repeating groups into the target relational table format, and also transformed the non-relational "datatypes" (so to speak) into relational datatypes.
