Provide strategic input and review of marketing material, proposals, RFIs and contracts inresponse to client and internal requests relating to Data Management services.

A move to AAIPharma was motivated by the opportunity to work for a small to mid sized CRO which had begun expansion into the provision of Phase II-IV Clinical Development Services. I have been involved in the set-up of a new Proposals Department in Europe designing procedures and processes to facilitate a consistent global approach in response to RFPs, RFIs and Changes in Scope as well as training staff in their use. This has also involved the design of a global proposal template and involved input into the design and implementation of shared services such as our Pricing System, Experience Database and Customer Relationship Management System. On a day to day basis, I also respond to RFPs, RFIs and Changes in Scope through the preparation and co-ordination of budgets and proposals working alongside Senior Management, Operational Leads and Business Development Associates.

Beginning a career with Inveresk Research (subsequently Charles River Laboratories), I worked as Proposal Business Analyst for two years before progressing to a senior role and assumed training and management responsibilities for 2-3 junior colleagues. My ability to produce high quality proposals and budgets especially within the shortest of time-frames was proven by my regular allocation to key accounts and high value bids. I was given the opportunity to act as Manager for the department to provide maternity cover in 2006, shortly after the take-over by Kendle. Having demonstrated my capabilities in this area, I was subsequently promoted to this role in 2007 and successfully managed three offices in Scotland, England and Australia. Experiencing several company takeovers, I have shown capacity to adapt well to the changes indicative of the CRO industry. I have benefitted from opportunities to work with a variety of company systems and procedures and developed a keen understanding of the necessity and advantages involved in ensuring their consistency on a global basis.

Working at Quintiles gave me the opportunity to develop a sound understanding of the overall clinical trials process. The call centre provided a wide range of support services including EDC and IVRS technology, Patient Recruitment and Retention, SAE Reporting Randomization, Un-blinding and Query Resolution. I progressed quickly into management and led teams of up to 15 people. I managed allocation of resources to ensure a 24*7 service and led initiatives such as the implementation of a quality management system and the introduction of an internal grading structure to encourage staff motivation and retention. Working as a Project Manager enabled me to gain experience of managing budgets and resource utilization as well as obtaining valuable insight into the clinical conduct of global trials through attendance of client and internal teleconferences and attendance at client kick-off meetings.
