Following 20+ years of senior leadership experience in Cyber Security, GRC and Privacy in complex global environments and multiple industries, I currently harness my skills and experience to assist clients with their Cyber and GRC challenges. I provide advisory to Startups, and hands-on assistance to CISOs and CIO/CTOs with their projects and programs. I have extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, and Board-level communication, using these skills to ensure efficient execution and delivery of complex Cyber and GRC projects.Having designed, implemented, and managed teams and programs across Cyber Security, GRC, and Privacy, I approach my strategic planning and project/program design from a holistic and proactive viewpoint. I have held both CISO and Chief Privacy Officer roles, and Privacy and Security by Design are in my DNA. My hands-on approach throughout my career means I have been deeply engaged in the design and maintenance of processes, controls, and testing scenarios across both technology and GRC. I translate the specific risks and requirements of each business and their vertical into the programs that I design, and this approach has led me to success in roles across multiple industries. This now underpins the basis of my engagement with each client, ensuring I understand the business and its priorities as my first step. I have led two successful ISO 27001 certifications and programs, and have a strong understanding of risk management frameworks, including NIST, and how to implement and maintain them. Regulatory change is another key area of my experience, having led teams implementing the security and information handling requirements of SOX, CISA, NIS, GDPR, and Dodd Frank. Third Party/Supply Chain management has been a core part of each role I have held, and I have extensive experience in both setting requirements for my organization's vendors and ensuring my organization's clients' and regulators' requirements are met.Mentoring employees and building successful, cohesive teams has equipped me with skills to develop robust, well-understood processes that adapt with the growth of the function. My Undergraduate degree in Manufacturing and Business Management ingrained in me the principles of efficiency, waste minimization, and continual improvement, which have been foundational to my career.I am extremely grateful for the experiences and opportunities that I have been privileged to enjoy, and for the many incredible people with whom I have shared them.
