Program Manager | Education & Employment Navigator
Everett Community College
As a Program Manager for Everett Community College, it was my pleasure to coordinate an array of services to assist our students with obtaining success in both their educational and career goals. As the very first Everett Community College Education & Employment Navigator, I have had the tremendous opportunity to lead the way for student-centered navigation services.During my time here I have worked with 1,896 individuals & students enrolled in, entering, or graduating from, one of the following programs:1) The BRIDGES Center, which serves ESL, adult basic education, and high-risk/high-barrier students with a dream of transitioning into college level classes2) Aerospace & Advanced Manufacturing Careers (AAMC), which includes Aviation, Precision Machining, Composites, Welding, Engineering/Tech Design/CAD, and Manufacturing Employment Readiness3) Health Sciences Division with an emphasis on Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy students and graduates4) Everett WorkSource Youth Center, where youth ages 16-24 may obtain a GED and receive professional assistance for educational pathways navigation and job search (with a focus on Snohomish County YouthWorks from October 2017-March 2018). Our students and job seekers in these programs receive the individual and group support they need in order to complete their desired programs. Once students are ready to advance, they also learn relevant, top-level job readiness strategies, which prepare them for the efforts they will put forth to gain highly sought-after employment. In 2015 the work I did directly with AAMC students resulted in a placement rate of over 80% for training-related employment, and boasted a 92% placement rate for highly-engaged participants throughout the 3-year program overall. These services have been generously provided by the Skill Up/The Seattle Foundation, Title III, WIOA, and YouthWorks, along with collaborative partnerships with WorkSource Snohomish County and Workforce Snohomish.
