Founder And Group FacilitatorThoiry Working Women'S Group Dec 2007 - Aug 2008Geneva Area, SwitzerlandThoiry Working Women's Group (TWWG) was an English speaking career group I founded for professional women in the Geneva Switzerland area wishing to return to paid employment after a break from professional life due to child-rearing or a relocation. Purpose of GroupThe group prepared professional women for re-entry into the paid workforce through networking and peer coaching. I organized meetings every two weeks. For every meeting I brought in leading professional women employed in private industry & international organizations to give workshops and hold panel discussions free-of charge. Workshops and panel discussions covered subjects pertinent to working mothers such as CV writing, competency based interviewing, work-life balance, applying for jobs when overqualified, local childcare choices, and personal goal setting. In-between meetings participants worked in pairs on concrete goals set at the previous meeting. My responsibilities included:➢ setting group objectives➢ member recruitment➢ guest speaker recruitment➢ meeting agenda setting / panel discussion objective setting➢ meeting facilitation & presentations➢ general logistics and group communicationsThis group disbanded after I returned to paid employment as no members were able/willing to take on the role as group facilitator and organizer. 8 out of 12 TWWG members had returned to paid employment by the time the group concluded. Members credited much of their employment success to their networking and coaching experienced with TWWG.
