Corporate VpEmpower It, Inc. Jan 1985 - Aug 1998I began my entrepreneurial career at our family company selling magazine ads to CPG companies like Del Monte, Clorox, and Nestle. Opened dozens of new accounts and achieved double digit sales growth every year from 1985 to 1993. To fully learn the business, I moved to the data syndication division selling product movement data (like IRI and Nielsen) to CPG companies. Again achieved double digit sales growth by adding new clients and deepening account penetration with existing relationships. Eventually formed a new division of the company called BeautyScan to collect scanner data from department stores to create an IRI-like service for this channel, which required selling data providers (the department stores), data consumers (fragrance and cosmetics companies) and venture capital firms on the concept.
