Director Of Marketing And Business Development
Current- Continuously evolve the Marketing & BD function. Adjust targets/objectives in line with output of periodic planning.- Advise the firm of the macro issues, trends in professional services and in IP affecting our business and clients. Observe and report on competitor activities.- Represent the Marketing and BD function at management and leadership meetings.- Produce an annual Marketing and BD plan and budget that supports the firm’s growth ambitions. Drive discussion and ratification of the plan among leadership groups.- Build and maintain relationships and visibility with stakeholders including leaders, partners, managers, technical and non-technical staff.- Lead and inspire the Marketing and BD team; manage roles including Snr. Marketing Exec, Designer/Web Developer, Snr. Comms Exec, Events Specialist & Marketing Admin. Manage day-to-day and task according to firm growth objectives. Monitor utilisation. - Foster a collaborative team culture. Set stretch objectives that evolve their skillset and reflect their ambitions. Support team with regular development check-ins. Develop through exposure, education or experience. Recruit as necessary.- Ensure day-to-day, business-as-usual Marketing and BD activities are efficiently executed. Identify opportunities and tools to refine and improve processes. Ensure continuous improvement.- Educate the firm on Marketing and BD best practices.- Oversee: marketing campaigns, event programme development and events coordination, internal communications, visual identity development, digital marketing/social media, advertising, CRM management, content design/development, pitches/tenders, submissions to legal directories/industry analysts, Marketing/BD infrastructure development.- Develop and oversee domestic and international prospecting activities. - Act as relationship manager for external agencies: digital, PR, web.- Develop, continuously improve and oversee lead nurture efforts.
