I have extensive experience handling complex financial services matters related to the various federal approvals and state licenses needed to engage in business. I also frequently advise operators of financial technology projects regarding federal approval and state licensing requirements for their businesses, and work strategically with those clients to develop a plan to obtain and maintain any such licenses and approvals.One of my most valuable assets for my clients is the close working relationships that I maintain with the various federal and state regulators that oversee them. Drawing upon these relationships, I strategically counsel my clients through obtaining and maintaining licenses and approvals; completing on-site and off-site audits and examinations; explaining sensitive disclosure issues; diligencing transaction documents; and reporting mergers and acquisitions that result in changes of ownership and/or executive management, among other things. As a member of several working groups with CSBS and AARMR, I have been involved in the development of the NMLS 2.0 System. I am proficient in all aspects of the NMLS, including submissions of company and branch application forms and electronic surety bonds; transitions of state licenses to the NMLS; renewals of state licenses; amendments to approved company and branch licenses; submissions of advance change notices; submissions of mortgage call reports, money services business call reports, and standard financial condition reports; and coordination of larger transactions affecting multiple state licenses, such as changes of control, additions of executive officers, and maintenance of licenses across the U.S.
