I’m a mechanical engineering student in my senior year at UCF with an expected graduation date of May 2023.I was born in Mexico and came to the US when I was young. I quickly learned that the US has many opportunities and I worked hard in my education and in agriculture with my parents. I graduated high school cum laude and joined the US Army as a paratrooper. My time in the US Army shaped my character and gave me many valuable lessons and experiences that I carry on my journey. I’m passionate about applying the theory learned in school to solve open-ended problems and create useful solutions for our present and future challenges. I believe the challenges that climate change is already creating will require collaborative and creative engineering. I would love to be part of the teams developing the solutions to safeguard our environment and our future generations.My interests include manufacturing, 3D printing, fluid power, mechatronics, robotics, computer-aided design, and sand casting. I’m able to do basic lathe turning and milling. I’m working on a design for a small waste-oil foundry to melt metals to include aluminum and cast iron.I strongly believe in continuous self-improvement. I own a collection of more than 100 technical books, which include all or most of my college textbooks and many old edition technical textbooks and reference handbooks.
