Civic Engagement - Host game nights using Cards Against Urbanity as a method for reaching new audiences on civic design. The cards poke fun at cities, but provide a teaching moment on why public meetings, infrastructure and design are all important facets of daily life.Redevelopment - Worked with interdisciplinary team of professionals to shape a legislative and policy program for redevelopment in Sarasota County. Responsible for drafting legislative proposals, comprehensive plan amendments, concurrency options and zoning code language to align zoning and planning language. Provide outreach to community and civic leaders on transportation and land use.Transit Oriented Development - Teamed with Dr. David Brain of New College, Sarasota County and the Sarasota County Area Transit Authority to develop a public participation program on transit oriented development and redevelopment.Development of national guidance on stormwater controls to meet new regulatory requirements under the Clean Water Act, as well as model ordinance language for joint smart growth and stormwater programs.; Development of watershed plans to integrate new water and stormwater requirements with land use programs and General Plans. This effort entails an extensive review of land development regulations, plans and local programs.Trust for Public Land and Smart Growth Leadership Institute - Align State level land development and water resource policies to support Source Water Protection in Ohio, Maine and New Hampshire. State of California, Ocean Protection Council (2007) - Developed State level policies to support wider implementation for Low Impact Development.National Environmental Education and Training Foundation (2007)- Developed material for weathercasts, focusing on the intersection of the built and natural environments as it relates to common weather related events such as urban heat island and localized flooding.

As new mobility advisor, helped grow Alta's new mobility programming. My primary responsibility was solidifying and expanding Alta's leadership role in shaping policy and planning for shared-use mobility and automated vehicles around bicycle and pedestrian planning. This included early work on technology and Complete Streets, Mobility Hub concepts, Mobility Plans, Micromobility permits, and Curbside/Sidewalk Management planning. Secondary roles included thought leadership, training, and on-call assistance for Alta professionals.

In 2014, GreaterPlaces and DoTankDC created Cards Against Urbanity. Like Apples to Apples & Cards Against Humanity, the game decks have question and answer cards. Players take turns judging a question round; he or she picks a card with a question about cities and neighborhoods. Players then try to appeal to the judge by throwing down answer cards from their hand.Example question cards: "The Mayor got in trouble for crowdsourcing ______" and "Architects really need to think more about" Example answer cards include "screaming children," Not-so-smart growth," and "the poor door." The poor door is a reference to controversial separate entrances for subsidized apartments required in luxury buildings. Appointed to lead the re-opening of the first green building open to the public in the United States. Leading the efforts to execute a new strategic plan to include: (1) enhanced demonstration for sustainable buildings and landscaping, (2) new technology to build a community convening and meeting space, and (3) a community "Think Tank" to tackle complex issues such as economic development and strategy, redevelopment, and reframing how the community thinks about its assets. Leading the organization (which has been dormant for four years) into rebuilding communications for the 21st century with web and mobile applications.
