In 2010, Lisa was presented with a very unique offer and challenge. She was asked to become a partner in a young company, 36Software, whose founders had developed a much-needed product, SmartDocs. Having seen so many companies attempt and fail to implement XML content management solutions, she immediately recognized the gap that SmartDocs was filling. Letting writers stay in MS Word and get full content management at a fraction of the cost and time required. The opportunity for user success rates was off the charts, as opposed to the repeated failures she had seen with XML implementations. Lisa decided it was worth the risk to take a leap of faith and join 36Software. Now, relationships with her customers are what drive Lisa’s passion for problem solving. Her experience spans over 15 years working with different tools, corporate writing teams, translation, and content development methods. Now, leading the charge with her company’s sophisticated yet user-friendly product, she gets the pleasure of seeing her customers succeed in ways they never thought possible with their Word content. Many companies are so deeply rooted in their inefficient processes that they don’t even recognize there is a way out. Lisa makes sure to identify the opportunities for improvement that companies don’t even realize they have available to them.Lisa is often invited to speak at conferences, provide workshops, and teach courses to help writers of all types: Technical writers, Sales Proposal writers, Medical writers, etc. It’s this experience that makes her an expert consultant and trainer to her own customers. The content companies produce costs a LOT of money and time to create – documentation, sales proposals, marketing content, reports, etc. Lisa identifies inefficiencies, underused tools, and repeated mistakes to helps resolve them. With her help, companies dramatically lower the cost of producing content by increasing productivity of those working with and writing content.
