Guides and develops policy, technical and educational material development, epidemiological analysis and interpretation, and communicable disease response activities.

Developed and provided policy and response guidance to COVID-19 and other public health threats to Installation leaders, optimizing the balance between operational requirements and health risk. Provided regular risk hazard communication to leadership, employees and other stakeholders. Led the annual influenza prevention campaign for over 250 tenant organizations. Responsible for safe delivery of a full spectrum of routine and travel-related immunizations in 5 distributed clinics, to include COVID vaccine campaign.

Developed proposals, obtained and managed grants, and led public health related Global Health Engagements in countries throughout INDOPACOM. Team Lead for the Tier 1 Forward Deployable Preventive Medicine Unit (FDPMU), designed for deployable, full spectrum preventive and occupational medicine laboratory support, to include CBRN identification.

Biosurveillance lead, IC representative to the InterAgency Biosurveillance Indications and Warning Analytic Community (BIWAC); Redesigned and managed "Wildfire", the BIWAC communications platform for reporting events of concern across the community. Clinical/public health advisor during the Ebola outbreak.

The senior military officer-in-charge of all (approx 800) SoM uniformed medical and graduate students including service members in the Army, Air Force, Navy and Public Health Service. Provided chain of command accountability and served as military advisor to the Dean of the SoM.

Established a new Division within the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System to perform real-time surveillance of all active duty deaths, worldwide, in order to rapidly report cases of public health significance to Department of Defense (DoD) medical leadership. Developed a long-term Medical Mortality Registry to collect data from autopsies, death certificates, investigative agencies and administrative offices for future mortality studies.

Led the Task Force Eagle Preventive Medicine Program, providing guidance to all units in Multi-National Division (North) on Preventive Medicine/Public Health issues during Operation Joint Forge.

Chaired a Tri-Service Working Group that standardized the first-ever Department of Defense level list of Reportable Events; wrote the first Guidelines Manual for Reportable Medical Events.

Primary Care physician at the largest health care clinic in Southern Command. Cases included a wide variety of tropical medicine conditions such as myiasis, dengue, strongyloides, hookworm, and dermatitis (e.g. moth, mango). Pediatric visits often conducted in Spanish.
