Supports the CFO in carrying out the responsibilities of the finance/accounting department. Primary responsibilities include safeguarding of assets, timely and accurate reporting and consolidation of financial statements, achieving budget objectives by monitoring monthly variances, and data collection and reporting for investment, endowment and restricted funds.

-Analysis and preparation of journal entries for each monthly close on both a GAAP and tax basis. Includes standard entries, reclasses or adjustments, review income and expenses, accruals, allocation of overhead, and intercompany transactions.-Communication with Property Managers and Internal Management to ensure completeness and accuracy as well as the exchange of information on various projects.-Generate financial reports using SAP BW and BCS reporting functions-Review operating cash flows and income statements for accuracy and completeness. Determine appropriate accruals, reclasses and adjustments to accurately reflect the monthly results of each property. -Preparation of 404 documentation including expense and income review, journal entries, supporting analysis, escrow analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable and fixed asset analysis including depreciation, additions and disposals. -Responsible for use of SAP fixed asset module for recording fixed asset additions, disposals, acquisitions, sales, transfers from development and depreciation postings-Assist with special projects (refinancing, sales, etc.) to review and record entries related to any activity that occurred due to the refinancing or sale. -Prepare monthly reporting for Lenders and Partners-Support the annual budgeting and projection processes. -Preparation of documentation to support year-end close and related audit packages. Includes supporting documentation for all accounts to accurately reflect all balance sheet accounts, revenues and expenses for each property. Review of financial statements and tax returns prepared by outside audit firms-Assist with internally prepared tax returns. -Responsible for reconciling and synchronizing general ledgers with financial statements and tax returns.-Ensuring timely payment of certain property expenses such as mortgage payments and various other expenses.-Responsible for understanding complex ownership structures and debt structures.
