• PhD project on the identification and characterization of novel plant resistance-inducing compounds for more sustainable, integrated plant disease management. During my PhD, I:
• applied multiple experimental techniques including different plant infection assays, cultivation of bacteria and fungi, DNA and RNA manipulations, qPCR, RNAseq, etc.
• performed statistical data analysis
• published a peer-reviewed paper (DOI:10.1016/j.biocontrol.2020.104240)
• contributed to the patent application for plant resistance inducers
• coordinated the collaboration with 2 KU Leuven research groups, the VIB Screening Core and a Belgian agrochem company

• Project on the development of SNP markers located in the QTL regions of an elite sugar beet breeding line.During my internship at the R&D department, I:
• selected SNPs in silico
• experimentally validated the selected SNPs using in-house genotyping platform
• performed statistical QTL analysis
• presented results to my supervisor and the R&D director
