About Dr. Lisa Raufman
My passion is to empower people to maximize their potential. Everyone has unique strengths and talents to share in the world. My life goal is to help people find ways to use their talents and feel a sense of self worth. I started my career focusing on community college students and expanded to faculty development to promote student success.I started out as a history major at UCLA with no awareness of how a major related to the real world of work. Luckily, I was a student worker in the UCLA Career Center and started my journey in understanding how a liberal arts education could be the key to becoming an educated person who could adapt to a rapidly changing workplace. Through several college years of research, I found that Community College Counseling and Career Counseling would become my passion. After being a counselor, career counselor, career center coordinator, I joined a few colleagues in writing The Career Fitness Program, Exercising Your Options which is now in its 10th edition.I am now a nationally published author with over 30 years of service in community colleges.
