I work to reduce the use of toxic chemicals and other pollutants by integrating safer chemical alternatives, prevention pollution and education. I focus on building long-term partnerships leading with equity and fostering partnerships that build links between diverse groups. • Develop, fund and implement programs to successfully administer Oregon's Pollution Prevention program achieving human health, well-being and environmental protection goals. • Apply for and manage 1.1 million dollars in grants; write, oversee and execute five contracts annually; prepare and track budgets, ensure 100's of deliverables and and project goals are complete. • Created and developed seven innovative programs that include an internship program, safer alternatives replacement program and green chemistry training. These programs have led to measurable environmental reductions, increased knowledge and behavior changes. The results include 50 interns placed, 120 teachers trained on green chemistry, billions of gallons of water saved, 100's of gallons of toxic chemicals not used and millions of dollars saved. • Lead and develop requests for project proposals, funding announcements and facilitate communications with applicants, principal investigators, reviewers, panel members and students.

A nonprofit organization on a mission is to support the lives of immigrants, the BIPOC community, and all people by spreading the electrifying energy of love, unity, happiness, and diversity across cultures through music and dance.Our goal is to creates free, community events where the majority of the performers and artists are immigrants, Black, Indigenous, and people of color. I wrote the business plan, articles of incorporation, Bylaws and have applied for 30 grants; managed budgets, timelines, deliverable and reports for 15 grants that we obtained. I have enthusiastically built relationships with 20 partners and 15 artists, facilitated 15 festivals and created and taught 16, Dance your Science workshops for BIPOC teens while managing fiscal matters.

We've partnered with Oregon Sea Grant to deliver a free, sustainability internship program. We match students with Oregon businesses to help them reach their sustainability and waste prevention goals.

Manages the municipal stormwater permits in the southwest region. Works with local governments, environmental groups and other state agencies to interpret, apply and resolve complex permit compliance issues.Represents Ecology on the following committees:• Lower Columbia Estuary Partnership Board• DEQ Municipal Stormwater Permit Advisory Committee• Lower Columbia Toxics Reduction Working Group• Lower Columbia Regional Status and Trends Monitoring Working Group • Develops tools and strategies to ensure environmental compliance and pollution prevention.• Conducts research and evaluates new stormwater standards, technologies and tools. • Designs and performs audits and inspections at municipal facilities for environmental regulations and provides technical assistance/enforcement.• Informs staff, stakeholders and permit holders by making presentations at community forums, group meetings and workshops often working through contentious issues.• Develops and manages detailed tracking tools to monitoring current status, compliance issues, and administration of permittees/grantees. • Serve as the technical liaison and collaborates with personnel in government agencies, local and federal planning agencies, community stakeholders and permittees.• Participates on a high functioning team who produces permits, technical guidance and policy.• Writes and reviews permit/contract modifications and advises management on policy issues.

Coordinated and executed many aspects of the City’s environmental compliance programs, including planning and managerial functions, technical analysis, and project management. • Developed and lead the City’s sustainability program from origination. Secured support of management to provide guidance on program parameters and strategy. Gained executive management approval for objective statement and a commitment to measure and report environmental performance.• Collected operations data for energy use, recycling rates and fleet and fuel alternatives.• Collaborated with maintenance, public works and parks staff to coordinate interconnected sustainability projects simultaneously.• Served as external environmental spokesperson. Participated in community working groups and webinars to share expertise and develop common tools. • Annually inspect city facilities for pollution prevention and good housekeeping practices.• Assisted in developing the Stormwater Treatment Ordinance which spanned two years and comprised of coordinating a stakeholder group, conducting public meetings and researching national standards.• Prepared and disseminated the annual compliance reports to Council, staff and residents. • Conducted over 30 presentations and internal city training events on a yearly basis. • Designed the content for the environmental Web pages and published the monthly online environmental newsletter, EcoConnect.

Responsible for reviewing statewide Clean Air Act permit requirements for compliance purposes, interpreted regulations, and conducted outreach and education to stakeholders. • Performed inspections and visual opacity tests of Title V facilities including power plants, concrete batch plants, manufacturing facilities and landfills. • Worked closely with facility representatives to ensure compliance with regulations by analyzing Clean Air Act permit requirements.• Developed the Bureau’s Supplemental Environmental Project policy and several subsequent proposals.• Initiated new, internal interpretation documents for Title V regulations. • Designated as the liaison between Bureaus for a new, coal-fired power plant that required coordinating staff, writing summaries of permit requirements and speaking to the public. • Initiated and developed tracking system for technical reports from permitted facilities. • Reviewed technical annual and quarterly reports.

The Kansas City region's premier resource for environmental education and action, Bridging The Gap (BTG) has over a dozen diverse environmental programs aimed at making our region more sustainable for the future. When BTG began in 1991 as a small group of concerned citizens, no one thought a volunteer-based movement could last. Today, BTG has evolved to include individuals, businesses, and government on both sides of the state line. Working with approximately 2,600 volunteers each year, we take action to make our world, region and community green, healthy and sustainable.
