As a research assistant in Prof. Maria Yang's Ideation Lab, I studied the impact of resource environments on early-stage design and prototyping of mechanical and electromechanical systems in universities, as well as its implications for innovation policy and design strategies. I also conducted case studies with engineering students in Mexico, the results of which are relevant for anyone concerned about efficient resource use in product design and fostering adaptable engineers.

In the role of Summer Analyst with Instituto Mexicano para la Competitivedad, I helped guide policymaking that takes advantage of existing resources. ➢ Designed and built an informational tool to help the states of Mexico stimulate innovation at a lower cost

Cuernavaca, Mexico

➢ Evaluated mechanical designs for low-cost physical rehabilitation devices, and proposed alterations that resulted in more robust and less expensive products. ➢ Presented results to professors, students, and the local press in Spanish.

Cambridge, Ma And Nicaragua

➢ Helped develop the first iteration of innovation kits that help doctors and nurses in Nicaragua learn how to build and modify medical devices, which have since been featured in Popular Science and the Technology Review.➢ Designed and built prototypes, researched and purchased materials, planned project timelines and delegated tasks to project team members.➢ Conducted field research, co-authored surveys, and co-ran a focus group for product testing.➢ Wrote and delivered a presentation in Spanish on the future of innovation in Nicaragua at the 2do Congreso de Trabajadores de la Salud in Managua.
