Reporting to the COO/CFO I had functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable for SCACPA. Prepared financial statements for the 8 SCACPA chapters as well as our PAC and Educational Fund. Developed job descriptions for all staff positions. Oversaw the CPE (Continuing Professional Education) program including working with the Committee of 16 in developing course selections. After events were complete ensured that attendance was reconciled and certificates of attendance were sent to attendees. Reported attendance to the Certified Financial Planner Board for CFPs and the Commission on Continuing Legal Education & Specialization for Attorneys. Extensive communication with SCACPA members to assist them with dues questions and help with course registration.

Assist clients with filling their staffing needs in the accounting/finance area. Review candidate resumes, conduct interviews and schedule meetings with clients. Take job orders from clients, and recruit candidates with the required skills. Created Access database forms for candidate management, as well as Excel spreadsheet for tracking current job order activity. Utilize CareerBuilder and LinkedIn websites for posting job orders and searching for candidates

Reported directly to the President/CEO. Responsible for managing all areas of accounting and finance, supervising a staff of 15. Prepared financial statements and coordinated necessary SEC filings with external auditors and attorneys.

Responsible for overseeing daily operations of Accounts Payable, Payroll, Accounts receivable, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger Accounting. Implemented Automated Daily Bank Reconciliation and Cash Management System. Maintained general ledger accounts and reported financial results on an internal and external basis. Coordination of audits and communication with various external auditors and taxing authorities. Prepared and reviewed various sales, property, excise, and business license returns.

Responsibilities included supervision of staff accountants in the preparation of individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and various other tax returns. Duties also included research and consulting projects, auditing of financial statements, conducting training sessions for staff, and recruiting new hires.
