We achieve this through pioneering risk management that empowers people to actively safeguard and enhance their organisations. These outdated approaches can make risk management feel cumbersome and fear-driven, rather than empowering and engaging. At Unearth, we transform this dynamic by ensuring that your people are not just your best defence against risks—they are also your greatest enablers of success. Our 7-step 'PROTECT' method doesn’t just focus on safeguarding assets; it enhances your organisation’s resilience and capacity to thrive, elevating your current strategy. This method aligns with your values, amplifies your organisational identity, and turns every employee into a proactive agent in both managing risks and seizing opportunities. We activate and harness the strengths of your team, fostering a culture where everyone is attuned to the nuances of risk and opportunity. Our approach builds trust and collaboration, enhances environments for safety and creativity, and equips your team with the tools and knowledge they need to contribute effectively. This not only protects your organisation—it propels it forward by aligning risk management with your overarching goals and values. With over three decades of cross-industry experience, and insights from my best-selling book 'Risk Starts and Ends with People', I am recognised as a leading voice in rethinking risk management. Featured in top publications like the Australian Financial Review and CEO World Magazine, and listed as one of the '20 Australian Women Making Moves in 2022' in 'The Australian Business Journal', my commitment to a people-centric approach is clear. If you're ready to transform how your organisation handles risk, to not only protect but also to empower and align with your core values and purpose, let’s connect. • Griffith University
    Guest Lecturer
    Griffith University Jul 2023 - Nov 2023
    Brisbane, Queensland, Au
After the success of creating and delivering the ‘Risk Analysis and Management’ course for Griffith University’s, School of Engineering and Built Environment course in 2022, I was asked if I would return to deliver the course for a second year. The course content was updated and refined from the prior year, to continue to find way of improving the student experience. The course content continued to leverage aspects and concepts of my book, ‘Risk Starts and Ends With People: Demystifying risk for executives and leaders’.The course aim is to provide students with the necessary skills to make better decisions regarding the analysis and management of risks in engineering projects. Harnessing a people-centred perspective on risk, provides a pathway for developing an awareness and responsiveness to risk drivers, allowing the practitioners the opportunity to protect themselves more effectively from potential threats and risks, while at the same time creating a workplace culture that is supportive, transparent, and resilient. The subject information acts as a guide for practitioners managing real projects. Topics include understanding natural and human created risks, dealing with uncertainty, quantitative methods and qualitative assessment for risk management and how to also identify opportunities.Highlights included:- Increase in student numbers from prior year. Class size nearly doubled.- The interactive sessions with students and the ability to create a safe zone allowing students to share their depth of passion for the topic.- Positive feedback from students through the course being delivered.
