As Global Research Manager I look after approx. 30 investment teams, using over 140 research providers. I manage their budgets, agree research pricing and implement all contracts within MiFID II requirements. I record and analyse all usage and interaction data and organise, approve and record all payments whilst liaising with my investment teams and our providers, ensuring accuracy and recording against all internal budgets. I provide quarterly usage statistics to both my investment teams and providers. I ensure the efficient use of all research within the constraints of contracts and liaise regularly with all research providers, including six monthly provider evaluations. I liaise regularly with my investment teams to ensure all their needs are being met and that they are utilising their contracts correctly. I organise and record any trial requests within MiFID II guidelines. I monitor receipt of all incoming research via email and third party vendors, eg Bloomberg, Factset and request any non-compliant research, potential inducements, to be stopped.My role requires extensive knowledge of Excel, Red Deer, our research management system and great attention to detail. It also requires patience and empathy when dealing with my clients, who are my investment teams. A strong client focus means I do as much as possible to assist them with minimal disturbance.
