I began as an Assistant Accountant in June 2008 and was promoted to become the Company Accountant in February 2011. As Company Accountant I was responsible for both Management and Financial Accounting, and managing two accounts staff, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. After five years with the company, my role was made redundant as part of a restructuring process.Responsibilities:Monthly & Statutory Reporting & Co-ordination:● Completed financials for month-end including cash position, profit & loss, balance sheet, forecast, sales and project reports and consolidations.● Prepared half-year and annual statutory accounts including the Director’s Report with notes to accounts.● Completed annual income tax files to be sent to tax accountants.● Completed FBT, BAS and PAYG returns.● Completed Balance Sheet reconciliations and reviewed Bank reconciliations.● Completed Customer and Supplier rebate calculations and accruals.● Completed FBT analysis and prepared FBT Returns.Forecasting, Analysis & Management Reporting:● Assisted with the preparation of the annual budget.● Prepared Monthly Management reports for Management.● Raised P&L accruals, conducted analysis and provided commentary about the results.● Conducted Monthly Sales and GP Analysis.● Cash and working capital management.● Analysed inventory for slow moving stock and report findings to management.● Analysed sales of all products and report any low margins or sales or products to management.● Developed new ad-hoc reporting from management requests.● Prepared reports and provided comments to Senior Management and Sales departments including cash flow analysis, aged stock analysis, sales and margin analysis and divisional P&L statements.Staff Management & Training:● Supervised two bookkeepers (1 full-time and 1 part-time).
