I led the Guinness brand and communications strategy globally, setting the direction for all markets with a specific focus on GB, Ireland, Africa and Asia. Diageo’s lager Hop House 13 also falls under my remit. Throughout this time, I built and oversaw the culmination of “Made of More” as a £1bn idea. I set the agenda to bring black and white back to the heart of the brand, helping set the course for Guinness to become the #1 beer in GB. I also created, sold and brought the Guinness Africa brand platform “Black Shines Brightest” to life. It is the most effective platform in the history of the brand. Previously I have worked on Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Holidays (supporting from pitch to re-launching both brands by redefining “Virgin-ness”) as well as The Economist and Rexona (Unilever). My work on these brands has resulted in strategic and creative awards at all major global and local awards shows, including authoring 2x Gold IPA, 1x Gold APG and a Marketing Society Grand Prix. I also assist with recruitment and mentoring within the strategy department, setting the agenda for Graduate Recruitment; and have been a Juror for the Effies Effectiveness and Creativepool Awards.
