I took a career break from IT and the trading industry to teach Business English classes to Chinese adult learners. I created classes to teach relevant business topics including – world trading, financial creativity, starting a small business, and team building skills. During this time, I was selected to serve as Team Leader. This role came with the responsibility of managing scheduling concerns, problems with teaching, support for other departments and creating efficiencies.

I worked closely with head risk managers from Europe and Asia to define a new framework and governance for the Operational and Technology Risk program in IMC. My achievements include: increasing risk awareness within the firm, identifying top risk areas, and facilitating the mitigation of risk by working closely with key departments (Trading / Legal / Compliance) and leading a committee comprised of 8 trading desk managers.

I created automated Java test cases to certify the proprietary trading system. During this time, I was selected to serve as the Agile Project Manager after successfully coordinating software releases across 5 global locations. I also streamlined the current production troubleshooting process and partnered with multiple development teams to conceptualize a new system wide testing framework to ensure software compatibility of releases.

I was awarded a division excellence award for transforming a manual process into an automated program leading to 50% increase in team efficiency. I also developed a Java/Linux-based automated test strategy framework for fault-tolerant testing which cut down test execution from 1 week to 1 day.

I worked in a cross functional team to understand change requirements to create effective test cases to ensure top software quality. I also lead meetings focusing on system improvements and approved new software releases.

I was responsible for creating tools to support the FedLine environment. I developed a decompiler to support the FedLine environment.
