CurrentCertified as a Facilitator in 2019, joined the Board of Trustees as a Member at Large in May 2023, elected President in October 2023.Lead this all-volunteer grassroots organization into a growth period using a multifaceted strategy centered on governance, communication, recruiting, member engagement, and partnerships with aligned organizations.Revise and expand the organization’s Bylaws to create clear policies, procedures, and best practices.Primary author of publications to AVP-MD’s community of members and supporters.Respond to inquiries from the public and recruit new volunteers.Organize and execute most aspects of business meetings and social events.Create a supportive and inclusive team environment for AVP volunteers at seven of Maryland’s state correctional institutions.Lead a diverse and growing team of incarcerated facilitators and outside volunteers at the Maryland Correctional Institution for Women (MCI-W), coordinating workshops and mentoring new facilitators.Research and develop opportunities for AVP services in community and school settings.Network and cultivate partnerships with other nonprofit organizations.
