After having maintained a private practice in New York City for the past 28 years, Lisa Thaler has recently relocated her practice to Austin, Texas. She received her BA from Amherst College, her MSW from New York University and completed her post-graduate Psychoanalytic training at The Women’s Therapy Centre Institute. She also is an adjunct faculty member of the Women’s Therapy Centre Institute and has taught and supervised other Psychotherapists in training.Lisa has treated couples since 2005 and is fascinated by the complex realms of sexuality, eroticism and desire as well communication and attachment styles. She has studied with Esther Perel since 2014.Since 2013, Lisa has worked with patients receiving therapeutic ketamine infusions from the New York Ketamine Infusions Center. She is excited by how this innovative and visionary medicine aids in her patients mental health and, toward that end, she has partnered up with Austin Ketamine Specialists here in Austin.
