Jerakala Foundation is a 30,000acre beef cattle property and with it's own abattoir and buther, is one of only a few closed beef supply chains of its kind in Australia. Located in the North Burnett region of Queensland, we breed, grow, process, value-add, and retail our own beef.We run a Farm Work Volunteer Program offering national and international tourists with the experience of the Aussie farming way of life. Jerakala is also home to a stunning Bed & Breakfast and Farmstay facilities.

Having been a cattle grazier for over 20 years (my husband and business partner, over 40 years) we decided to buy our own meat processing plant and butchery. This not only closes the supply chain for our beef cattle operation but is also an investment in real estate and property in our local region.We provide our customers with a true paddock to your table experience. Our customers know exactly where their meat comes from, and even when not off our own farm, Burnett Butchery meat is sourced from local, boutique farmers wherever possible. We are currently expanding our products to include home made relishes, sauces and other condiments as well as boutique cheeses and other food products.My role within the company is Chief Financial Officer, Business Development and Marketing. Licencee and event manager of TEDxMundubbera, the smallest town in Australia to host a TEDx event. The inaugural event was held on 21st March 2014 after being postponed due to the Australia Day Floods of 2013. It was a challenge to educate the Mundubbera community about the TEDx philosophy and phenomena but with the huge success of our inaugural event, I have another 100 teachers, so the next event is going to be even better.

In 2009 cre8you developed the "Bush Business Online Program" and was a successful applicant for the Small Business Online project that was funded by Ausindustry to help small businesses develop the skills to go online or upgrade their existing internet operations so they could better engage in e-business to reduce costs and improve market opportunities.The Bush Business Online program targeted small business owners in the Wide Bay Burnett region. Specifically, Bundaberg, Gympie, Gayndah, Kingaroy and the Sunshine Coast. The number of participants involved in the project was over 300 small businesses.The Bush Business Online program delivered skills development through blended and flexible training delivery and online peer to peer mentoring. The program was delivered in the Wide Bay Burnett and Sunshine Coast Region and began with online evaluation of participants existing skills and knowledge followed by workshops aimed at breaking down the barriers to an online presence. This new awareness was then built upon in an active hands-on environment.E-clubs and online learning groups were formed where participants continue to expand their skills, supported by regular online visits from content experts. Participants learning was supported by an online personal learning environment where access to further self paced online training and shared content was made available.Two final one day "Online Futures" seminars were held at the Sunshine Coast and Kingaroy where all program participants were invited to come together to network and hear from a variety of experts and speakers.The program ran for 18 months with great results and some fantastic feedback from participants. The program took hundreds of small businesses on a journey of discovery through the social media world and created hundreds of facebook pages, google places, blogs, tweets and youtube videos, by breaking down the barriers one by one in a supportive and fun environment.
