Research Team Leader, Senior Scientist, Project Manager
CurrentCurrently I'm working as Research Team Leader for Biopolymer films, foams and composites team at VTT and coordinating EU-VITAL project (Innovative processing technologies for bio-based foamed thermoplastics, 1.6.2022 – 31.5.2025, GA no. 101058328). I have 23 years’ experience in national and international joint projects as well as customer projects as a researcher, project manager and coordinator. My knowledge areas are biocomposites, wood plastic composites, use of side streams from forest industry as composite raw material, biopolymers, plastic processing and testing.I previously managed BeLight project – Beyond existing lightweight materials for packaging and construction - (1.1.2020 – 30.6.2022, funded by Business Finland) and the 7th framework EC-project INCOM - Industrial Production for Nanoreinforced Composite Structures (theme FoF NMP.2013-10). The team I lead, Biopolymer films, foams and composites team, consists of 16 professionals from the field of polymeric composite material and process R&D, including bio-based, synthetic polymers and natural fibres. Material and process development in laboratory and pilot scale for biocomposites, film extrusion and extrusion coating, and foams with bio-based thermoplastic alternatives is the teams focus areas.
