About Lisa Hillyard

I'm the humanities major that crossed over to the trades. I have two areas of expertise: 1) teaching English to adult learners using the language of the trades for context. My curriculum attends to the dual learning curve of language acquisition and trades skills, specifically in welding and machine tool technology. And,2) teaching industrial safety within an OSHA framework. My expertise is working with the emerging workforce and adults changing careers. I am OSHA authorized to train workers for OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 cards in General Industry and Construction.
