The Institute of Directors in New Zealand (Inc) promotes excellence in corporate governance, represents directors’ interests and facilitates their professional development through education and training. Energia Potior is a partnership between Auckland UniServices Limited and Yunca Holdings Limited. Auckland UniServices Limited is the commercialisation arm of The University of Auckland, and Yunca Holdings Limited is a private sector manufacturing and engineering company.The joint venture, with assistance from the Light Metals Research Centre, and other private sector contractors, enables Energia Potior to deliver the EnPot technology globally by a specialist team that provides a total turn-key solution to our clients. EnPot is a patented new mechanical technology that can be cost effectively retro-fitted to 90% of the world's aluminium smelters. EnPot breaks the restraints of the current cell design by opening up the operating energy-use window, fundamentally transforming the way aluminium smelters consume energy during the smelting process. EnPot™ was developed and patented by a team of researchers and engineers from the Light Metals Research Centre, Yunca Engineering, and Energia Potior Ltd, and is considered one of the most important breakthroughs in aluminium smelting in 125 years.

The University of Auckland Innovation Institute China is a Wholly-Foreign Owned Entity (WFOE) with UniServices Ltd as its sole shareholder. The Institute is the University of Auckland's center for commercial research, innovation and IP commercialization in China . The Institute facilitates joint research undertaken by the University of Auckland and Chinese universities and research institutes, commercial research undertaken for Chinese companies and international companies with a presence in China, and the spin-out of start-up companies in China. The Institute offers a safe pathway for international clients with a desire to undertake commercial research in China in collaboration with the University of Auckland. The University of Auckland Innovation Institute is located in the Science Park innovation precinct in the Hangzhou Economic & Technological Development Area (HEDA). UniServices has a wide range of international activities and contracts including in the health area with a focus on pre-clinical and clinical drug development and high value nutrition product development, the science and engineering areas with a.o. geothermal, aluminium smelter, climate change adaptation, robotics, advanced composite manufacturing and bio-engineering activities and the education area with a focus on English as a Second Language, Leadership, Schooling Improvement and customized programs. The international team serves large multinational clients as well as different government agencies and companies in different countries in South East Asia, North Asia, The Middle East, Europe and the USA. Several of the larger contracts are delivered in-country.
