About Lise Madsen

Presently I have a joint position as Head of Research at NIFES and Associate Professor at Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen. During the most recent years I have been working on adipocyte differentiation and function. Presently, 7 PhD-students and 3 master-students are working in my group. Our present work focuses on white to brown adipocyte transdifferentiation. Moreover, we investigate how food-components interact, and the consequences of such interaction on obesity development. We combine animal studies with in vitro molecular biological studies. At NIFES, we are presently establishing research in rodent models that focus on how nutritional components in the food interact with persistent toxicants.
