About Lise Cazzoli

I am a humanitarian worker and D.Phil Candidate at the Oxford Department of International Development, where I research access to healthcare for displaced hurricane survivors with disabilities and chronic illnesses. I hold undergraduate degrees in Social Anthropology and Political Science (UCLouvain) and a MA in Public Administration and International Affairs. Before and after starting my DPhil, I have worked in the policy and not-for-profit sector in the areas of humanitarian affairs, environmental conservation and food security (e.g., UNDP, OCHA, Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs) with local NGOs and think tanks (Belgium, Canada, France, UK, Guyana).Aside from my research, I paint evocative contemporary seascapes and impressionistic waterscapes and write poetry and fiction. My poems have been published in the Ash (OUPS) and Pekes and Pollicles (MCPS), and some of my work is available here: https://www.instagram.com/lise.cazzoli/In Oxford, I have sat on the boards of several student and academic councils. I also sat on the Editorial Board of the St Anne's Academic Review as Science Editor (2020-22) and mentored applicants from underrepresented groups through the UNIQ+ programme (University of Oxford Graduate Admissions).
