General counsel and senior executive responsible for legal services, procurement and contracting and corporate secretariat functions in a $500M/year organization with 7x24 operations in 89 Canadian airports. In this role, led a team of lawyers and procurement professionals and the corporate secretary's office through various transformation initiatives including redesigning the procurement governance framework, implementing a procurement-to-pay system and other strategic initiatives.

Led the Technology branch of over 100 employees and oversaw the management of CATSA's technology assets and project management office which at the time included over $500M in hold-baggage and pre-board screening technology deployed in 89 airports, the Restricted Area Identification Card program (a dual-biometric identification system deployed in 29 airports), CATSA's information technology assets and its information management program.

As Acting Vice-President Law and Strategy, in addition to performing the duties of corporate secretary, oversaw legal services, was primary legal advisor to senior management and the Board and led a branch of over 30 employees working in corporate planning and communications.

JDS Uniphase, a high tech company, experienced rapid growth during the late 90s which included a merger between JDS Fitel Inc and Uniphase Corporation and sales in the multimillions of dollars and then it experienced a severe market downturn in 2000. Through these phases, helped structure the contracting processes, supported the sales and purchasing teams' commercial contracting requirements and was eventually appointed lead commercial counsel to the Global Supply Management team.

Articled at the firm and was retained as full-time lawyer; worked as associate lawyer advising on all areas of intellectual property law with a focus on technology licensing, copyright and trademark law.

Participated in the development and installation of large scale information systems in a variety of roles from programmer to team leader. Worked on business systems installation projects at the Ottawa General Hospital, the University of Ottawa, Canada Post, Revenue Canada and the Scarborough Hospital.
