Support Maine’s Public Schools is a new nonprofit whose mission is to organize, equip, and empower a network of stakeholders to promote the rights of all students to a safe and equitable public education including the freedom of thought and access to all ideas.

Work as a mentor to advise and guide companies in EdTech, especially those with a focus on the English learner and language learning market.

Since 1993, Course Crafters, Inc. has specialized in developing high-quality content and products for the growing population of English language learners (ELLs) in the U.S., as well as English learners around the world. We have created scores of successful bilingual and English as a Second Language programs for educational publishers, including Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Rigby, LeapFrog SchoolHouse, and Berlitz, and in December 2007 we had our first proprietary program published by Perfection Learning: the Academic Language Notebooks: The Language of Math. Course Crafters is also the author of the online ELL Reference Center, published by EBSCO Publishing, a leader in the library market. More recently, Course Crafters (Lise Ragan) is the co-author of the HMH Family Engagement program, a research-based curriculum to support effective partnerships between schools and immigrant families, preK-12. Course Crafters published the first and most comprehensive research available on the K-12 ELL market (The Course Crafters Guide to the ELL Market), and provides consulting services to organizations looking to address the needs and opportunities in the English learner/dual language market--the fastest-growing segment of K-12 in the US. Lise Ragan and Course Crafters have provided consulting, product development, and strategic planning services to scores of global educational organizations, including publishers, educational technology companies, start-ups, nonprofits, and investment firms.

I am excited about bringing my over three decades of experience in product development, strategic planning, and product management expertise--with a unique specialization in the bilingual/dual language market-- to serve as an advisor, consultant, and author for several dynamic small and start-up organizations. Recently, I have been honored to join the core senior leadership team of Beereaders, LLC, a young Latin American edtech company, with offices in Austin, that is introducing an exciting digital Spanish reading comprehension program with the goal of redefining the the academic success of Spanish-speaking students around the world.
