As a textile engineer, my profession lies especially in industrial and mechanical engineering. I develop and improve Texperium her manufacturing processes and working in research and develop to create high-performance yarns out of mechanically recycled or bio-based sources. I am visiting textile machine production companies for education and have narrow contact with them for ensuring machines and process quality are up to date. Innovative ideas and techniques to improve the process are cross-linked to my role as a project manager and contact with those companies. The combination of being a project manager and a textile engineer that sees the challenging processes and techniques to create new yarns makes every day a new challenge. I am organizing a project team, control activity and research planning, controlling time schedule, budget and cost estimating and monitoring and improve the process.

Texperium is an open innovation center for high quality textile recycling in The Netherlands with impact across Europe. Texperium has state of the art research facilities available for companies and institutions to support the development of innovations in textile reprocessing and the use of recycled materials in sustainable and profitable applications. As a textile engineer, I apply the principles of engineering to design and manufacture of fibre, textiles, apparel and associated processes and products. My profession lies especially in industrial and mechanical engineering. I am responsible for ensuring the production and quality of the materials and yarns produced in the process, to come up with innovative ideas and techniques and to improve the process.

In marketing and communication, my role was to be responsible for coming up with marketing strategies to ensure the sale of products. My responsibilities included producing marketing brochures to advertise the products, writing blog posts about industry-related topics and promoting the content on social media. I learned more about the Adobe Illustrator, In-design, Photoshop package and experience with digital publishing and generating traffic and leads for new business.

My role as general employees was a combination of receptionist and nurse assistant. Prescan is the market leader in the Netherlands in the field of preventive health examinations. I the general job I handle a variety of administrative support tasks, including answering phones, receiving visitors, preparing meeting and training rooms, sorting and distributing mail. In the beginning process of their research, I advise national and international clients on mandatory diets and the process to relieve the nurses in their duties.

During the internship at Texperium, I took an active part in the Closing the loop project, in which sustainable and chain-oriented cooperation within the textile industry was paramount. I acted as project manager for Texperium. In addition to chain-oriented cooperation, the project gained substance through the development of local and sustainable yarn from natural and recycled textiles.Het project "Closing the loop" heeft als doel een kleine, lokale circulaire economie op te zetten binnen Nederland door een garen te maken vanuit lokaal geteelde vezelhennep en lokaal ingezamelde post-consumer textiel. Door deel te nemen aan dit project heb ik kennis opgedaan over duurzaamheid, recycling, duurzame vezels, spinnen en verschillende parameters/kwaliteiten die vereist zijn tijdens een spinproces.
