GVHC has 30+ health centers providing medical, dental and behavioral health services, education programs and advocacy initiatives in Merced and Stanislaus counties. Managed the hiring process, oversaw training and development, developed & enforced policies, coached, & managed discipline & terminations when needed. Coordinated & facilitated regional New Hire Orientation. Mentored five people through completion of Leadership Program.BUDGETS | Oversaw $3M annual budget, actively monitoring & streamlining expenses. VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT | Recruited, trained and coordinated for grassroots outreach, phone banking, clinic escort services during protest activity, and in-clinic service delivery.GRANTS AND FUNDRAISING | Secured $50K+ in grant funding from March of Dimes and Kaiser Permanente to support regional education programs. Through staff training and scripting, increased client donations to $49,000.

Coordinated services and developed client education materials and classes to help ensure healthy birth outcomes for 100+ prenatal patients of the UCDMC OB/GYN clinic. Supervised staff, monitored programs and quality improvement. Established March of Dimes Storks’ Nest program to provide free baby gear and pregnancy supplies to program participants.

Served as the link between the 2,700+-member Family PACT provider community and the California Department of Health Services, Office of Family Planning. Represented the programs at stakeholder meetings and conference such as American Public Health Association Annual Meeting, Women’s Health Update, and Teen Pregnancy Prevention Conference. Coordinated and facilitated statewide conferences, audio conferences, and classroom-based and one-on-one trainings reaching thousands of providers and staff. Developed CD-ROM, web-based learning modalities and print materials for providers and clients. Additionally, served as a trainer at the Western Regional Institute for Community Health Educators (WRICHE) on multiple occasions.

As Healthy Start Coordinator for Edison High School in Stockton, managed 15 staff at two high school-based primary care health centers. Recruited, trained and coached staff including medical assistants, health educators, nurses, clinicians and physicians. Represented the program at local and statewide events including Healthy Start Collaborative, Teen Pregnancy Prevention Collaborative, and Regional Title X provider meeting. Secured nearly $1M in funding through Healthy Start grant to expand services and renovate the health center. Designed and facilitated classroom-based discussions on adolescent health topics reaching hundreds of students each year.

My grant-writing skills secured funding through Office of Family Planning Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) grants in excess of $750,000 to fund three programs that provided the bulk of comprehensive sex education programs to students in San Joaquin County. Facilitated discussions on sexual health topics with adolescents at local high schools, juvenile hall and community-based settings. Provided one-on-one and small group reproductive health counseling to adolescents at four clinical sites.Trained and supervised Health Education Department staff.
