Lisha Day, Ms, Ncc, Inhc Email and Phone Number
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida in 2015. I completed my master’s degree in Marriage, Family, and Couples Counseling at Stetson University in 2020, along with Graduate Certificates in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Play Therapy & Creative Expression. During the height of the Pandemic, I saw how crucial physical health was to mental health, especially in underserved BIPOC communities and obtained certification as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach specializing in Gut Health from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in 2021. With that, came my blossoming love for ecotherapy.Since graduating, I have gained experience utilizing play therapy & expressive arts to provide developmentally appropriate counseling for children in multiple settings, from schools to community mental health agencies, to private practice. I have worked with children and families navigating neurodivergency & the school system, parent-child relationship challenges, and overall increasing family wellness & connection. Through that work, I found my passion for helping parents with neurodivergent children and creating systems that help with the day-to-day functions of their lives, both at school and at home. I also found it extremely rewarding to assist parents in navigating their own emotional blocks when striving to establish more conscious parenting styles. The one area I’ve focused on throughout my personal and clinical experience is how attachment styles in individuals (particularly neurodivergent ones) correlate to physical & mental health issues, specifically surrounding parenting, chronic stress, emotional (dis)connection in relationships, and stress management and how ecotherapy can help mend and/or mitigate the aforementioned issues. Although my previous work has centered around children, my hopes is to utilize my knowledge of human development, integrative wellness, attachment theory, and ecotherapy to move into more integrative roles that serve adults at the individual, couple, and/or family level.
