Reorganized curriculum to teach a full year of Biology content in five weeks. Biology is a prerequisite course for all upper level science elective courses as well as all Advanced Placement science courses; therefore, this course is offered to freshman, allowing them the opportunity to rapidly earn the required biology credit over the summer so that they may advance to higher level science courses their sophomore year. Course project requires students to construct an elaborate insect collection.

Appointed Lead Teacher for Biology; responsible for conducting biweekly meetings with the other biology teachers to discuss the upcoming curriculum and the implementation of the Common Core Standards, analyze test scores, and provide support for instruction. Taught Honors Biology, Integrated Biology, and Forensics. Actively participated in the development of a ninth grade academy to help freshman acclimate to high school life with continued involvement as a member of the 9th Grade Academy Site Team and as a 9th Grade Academy Team Leader. Team Leader responsibilities included conducting biweekly team meetings to discuss current and ongoing challenges, assess student progress, and to provide support to other team members. AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) trained and active member of the AVID Site Team to assess and analyze the progress of the AVID program and the students involved. Instructor for GAP Camp, a day camp for honors students that helps bridge the gap between middle school and high school and prepares them for a rigorous honors and AP curriculum.
